Spring is time for morels! If you are curious about foraging for these choice edible mushrooms but don’t know where to start, come and learn. If you already hunt morels, come and join the discussion!

Our speaker, Christin Swearingen, will share her experience foraging in Alaska, information about morel ecology, and tips for cooking and preserving your haul.

Christin Swearingen is a small-town mycologist in Fairbanks, Alaska, with interests in cooking and conservation. She led the Fungal Diversity Survey’s West Coast Rare Fungi Challenge for 5 years, started the first fungarium at the University of Alaska, and organizes the Fairbanks Fungi Festival.
