Are you a mushroom connoisseur? 👩‍🍳 You may have tried golden oysters, a delectable species native to Russia, China, and Japan. However, as Pleurotus citrinopileatus has gained popularity in the US, it has also spread through forests as an invasive species. We’ve even found it in several recent IMA surveys!

Our August speaker, Aishwarya Veerabahu, a PhD student at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, is researching the spread of golden oysters and their impact on native fungi. Join us to learn about her fascinating research and discover ideas on how this species can be responsibly cultivated.
